My latest fleamarket treasure. It is very old, way to delicate to really use and I am afraid it could break from displaying it alone. But I love it.

The German text reads if you love the rose’s beauty be aware of the thorns.

It has all the marks of its age, the dayly use and the fequent washing. Threadbare and already loosing a few of its Redwork stitches it still is simply beautiful.

I took this photo in front of a window to show how thin the fabric of this Redwork piece is. The darker parts are done in traditional embroidery with white floss. And you can see a few Redwork lines are already missing.

I found the orginal Halloween postcard in KellyLWatson flickr file and thought it would be a very nice Redwork pattern for Halloween.

Stickvorlagen selbst gemacht...

Es gibt viele Möglichkeiten Stickvorlagen auf den Stoff zu übertragen. Wenn man auf einen Laserdrucker oder Kopierer zurückgreifen kann, reicht ein einfacher Ausdruck bzw. eine Kopie die man nur auf den Stoff aufbügelt. So wie die "richtigen" Bügelvorlagen von denen man in Deutschland leider nur wenige mit schönen Motiven kaufen kann. Über das Internet gibt es einige schöne, zum Beispiel die von Aunt Martha.
Eine andere, einfache Möglichkeit Stickvorlagen zum Aufbügeln selbst herzustellen ist mit dem "gutem, alten" Bügelmusterstift. Den gibt es z.B. von Prym in jeder x-beliebigen Nähabteilung.
Ich selbst drucke gerne mit meinem Tintenstrahldrucker direkt auf den Stoff. Den Stoff schneide ich vorher auf DIN A 4 Größe zurecht und bügele ihn auf Freezerpaper.
Ganz beliebt und je nachdem wie Blickdicht der Stoff ist, ist das durchzeichnen der entsprechenden Vorlagen mit einer Lightbox direkt auf den Stoff und ansonsten bleibt ja immer noch das "Freihandzeichnen".
